Dedicated to Pastors Everywhere
Dear Pastor,
I just want to take this moment to show my appreciation to you for being my pastor.
I know that there is so much that takes place behind the scenes of what we normally see on Sundays - the painstaking process of preparing messages, countless meetings with leaders/staff to make sure that the church is up and running, visitations, long hours dedicated to counseling members, and so much more. While I personally don’t understand all the rigors and challenges that you may face on a weekly basis, I know that the Lord sees and knows.
I can only imagine that being a pastor of a church comes with tremendous costs. I have watched you pour out your life for us – with every ounce of energy that you have. I have seen you go through lengths to willingly bear the burdens of others – even when it might sometimes cut into your personal or family time. I have even witnessed you making efforts to engage, love, and even serve those who have criticized or hurt you. In all of these things, I want you to know that I have seen and witnessed Christ Jesus in you.
Like a true shepherd, you have come alongside us to make sure we don’t feel like we are going through life alone. You have companioned us through seasons marked by trial, doubt, or suffering and encouraged us to keep moving forward. You have grieved with us, cried with us, and even rejoiced with us. And with a wise and discerning heart, you were there to guide us when we felt lost or needed some answers to life’s many questions.
And just as much as you have showed up in our lives when it mattered most, I want you to know that we want to do the same for you as well. I know in this season, we have seen many to come and go – and that perhaps it may have left you feeling more lonely than usual. But when there are moments in your life where you feel anxious, sad, or alone, just remember, He is with you…and we are with you as well.
You might not see the fruit of all your life’s work. But believe me, the fruit is there. Every day, a new person’s name is written into the Book of Life. Every day, someone experiences the freedom in Christ for the first time. Every day, someone is healed, restored, and made whole again. Every day, someone has the strength and courage to live and live well. All because pastors like you each day to embrace their calling and say “yes, Lord”. So please don't ever forget, your ministry matters…but more importantly, you matter!
So from the bottom of our hearts…
Thank you for walking with us…
Thank you for loving us…
Thank you for being our pastor…
With Love,
Your Congregation Member
